Mission Statement

There is a lot going on in the world at any given time. Overwhelmingly, the news is full of mundane trade deals and the affairs of rigid politicians. It is thus almost painful to read, watch, or listen to the news. However, there is plenty going on in politics that is entertaining; stick-up-their-ass politicians in awkward/embarrassing/cringe-worthy situations make for hilarious memes and can provide some real comic relief to an otherwise uninteresting political development. I want to not only highlight and poke fun at these situations in my blog but also shed some light as to why we should care about them, because I believe it is important to remember how serious politics is in terms of its impact. There is always a possibility that the butt of a joke will actually affect your life, or that it will become President.tenor.gif

The older I get, the more I realize that being elected to hold a certain office does not automatically make someone intelligent, capable, or even a decent human being. Instead, I feel that we tend to put politicians and legislators on a pedestal undeservedly. It’s fun to laugh at their behavior but it’s also necessary to scrutinize their character and vote accordingly. C3ltGnUXUAMOfJi.jpg

As a student in college, politics plays a huge role in the amount I pay for school, the wages I earn while I work part-time, the amount I am billed when I have to see a doctor.

That’s why it’s especially scary when politicians decide to act like lunatics- these are the people in charge of life as we know it. In the current era, it seems as if the denial of “political correctness” and adaptation of “headassery” has become commonplace. In these cases, we should watch the politicians who say outright racist, sexist, and homophobic things under the guise of being edgily unfiltered, because their remarks often fly under the radar. Nonetheless, some blunders are just plain funny with no subliminal message attached.

  1. I like the idea of this blog, and am curious to see how it progresses. It’s a tough ask to pick politics and make it funny, while also being able to give it a spin and an individual voice, but I am hopeful and confident that you’ll pull it off.
Keep up the good work and always make sure your voice is front and center!
